We seek dedicated volunteers passionate about helping newcomers
gain new skills and settle in our community. KIS Mentorship program empowers, inspires and builds friendships by matching mentors and mentees based on shared interests for three months
Who is a mentoring volunteer
- A person who lives in Kamloops and BC
- Someone who wants to learn more about other cultures
- Someone interested in sharing life experience, skills and hobbies.
- A person who wants to help someone adjust to living in a new country

Mentors & Mentee can meet
- Once or twice a week within three months period
- Any location, Mentee or Mentor’s home
- In-person or on Zoom
How to join
- Read the Volunteer Guide located under the “Resources” menu below.
- Press the “Apply Here” button below to complete the volunteer interview form.
- Have an online interview with the Community Connections Coordinator.
- Complete the Online Volunteer/Mentor Application Form, which will be emailed after the interview.
- Complete the criminal record check (free as a volunteer).
- Start volunteering when signed up for a volunteer position.
