Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) is an English language training program funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.
The Centre for Education & Training’s LINC Home Study provides free distance education for eligible newcomers to Canada who cannot attend LINC classes in person.
You may choose between online (computer with internet access) or correspondence (books and CDs) learning options and study independently from your home. TESL-certified instructors conduct weekly one-on-one lessons using telephone or VoIP. Students complete assignments and receive on-going support and feedback on progress.
To be referred to the LINC Home Study Canada program, you must book an appointment at a Kamloops Immigrant Services which is a recognized Language Assessment Centre to test your English language skills and confirm your eligibility.
