Board of Directors
President – David Cruz
David is the owner of Glasskey Accounting Services and has been a society member since November
2008.
Vice-President – Gloria Ramirez
Gloria is a Professor of Education and Researcher at TRU. She has been a member of the society since May 2022.
Treasurer – Tushar Jain
Tushar is a manager at MNP LLP. He joined the Society in June 2026.
Secretary – Tanya Manning- Lewis
Tanya is an Assistant Professor in the School of Education, Faculty of Education and Social Work. She is a Board member since January 2026.
Directors at large:
Ambo Dhaliwal
Ambo is a retired administrator of Public Health. She has been a Board member since 1996.
Dilip Kumar Maurya
Dilip is the Restaurant owner of Maurya’s Fine Indian Cuisine and has been a society member since
November 2010.
Satwinder Paul
Satwinder is a retired TRU Professor of Water and Wastewater, she has been a Board member since October 2014.
Eva Bechtel
Retired Manager of Health Care Facility and has been a returning board member since April 2018.
Dr. Bob Rishiraj
Oral and maxillofacial surgeon. He has been a society member since September 2022.
Deniz Demirkapi
Deniz is a Human Resources and People Development Professional. She is a Board member since June 2024.
Hardeep Singh Chahal
Hardeep is the Vice President of the Lawyers Assistance Program of British Columbia. He joined the Board in June 2026.
Aakanksha Bharre
Aakanksha is a accountant. She is a Board member since June 2026.
Meetings, AGM and Membership
The Board of Directors meeting on a monthly basis. Meetings are usually scheduled every first Monday
of the month.
Each year at our Annual General Meeting, Society members have the opportunity to serve their
community by presenting themselves as volunteer Board Members.
