spring & summer camps

HALF-DAY CAMPS 

KIS offers free spring and summer half-day camps for newcomer children who are 6-12 years old.  Each camp has 2 Camp leaders and 4 to 6 Camp assistant-volunteers.

KIS camps offer an opportunity to connect with other children with whom they have a shared, immigrant experience as well as with the local community through activities such as Indigenous crafts and cultural teachings, “Learn to Fish” and visits to the Wildlife Park, YMCA and the BIG Little Science Center.  

Each half day of camp includes activities such as:

  • Crafts – Games – Stories – Music
  • Outdoor games and exploration
  • Field Trips to local favorites

 

Half-day camps are offered a the following times of the year:

  • Spring Break – March or April
  • Summer – 3rd week of July

 

Note that we do offer certain School Pro-D Day Camps – Dates will be announced in August.

Drop off: 8:45AM  Pick-up: 12:00PM

**We are currently fundraising to be able to provide a 2 week Summer Camp in 2021.
