What is the KIS Mentorship Program?
The KIS Mentorship Program is a friendly and supportive initiative that pairs community volunteers with immigrants in Kamloops and surrounding areas. This program is all about building connections, sharing experiences, and learning together. It’s a 3-month commitment and can be tailored to your goals whether it’s improving English, making new friends, exploring a hobby, or learning a valuable life skill.
How mentors and mentees can meet:
- For conversation practice: Meet at a local coffee shop, park, library, or anywhere comfortable.
- To learn practical skills: Discover how to take the bus, shop for groceries, navigate daily life in Canada, and more.
- For fun activities: Attend movies, community events, or try new hobbies together.
Â
You and your mentor/mentee decide where to meet, what to do, and how long to spend—flexibility is key!
