LIFE IN KAMLOOPS

Discover the essence of life in Kamloops through our volunteer-assisted “Life in Kamloops” series—a dynamic program featuring weekly and monthly activities held at KIS or virtually. Tailored for newcomers, this series is crafted to impart essential life skills, navigate information, access resources, and delve into Canadian culture, history, and contexts.

Engage in a variety of enriching activities, including:

  • Citizenship 101 Group Study
  • Informative Sessions
  • Free Tax Return Clinics
  • Life Skills Workshops
  • Mentorship Programs
  • Learn about the RCMP and the Kamloops Fire department

These sessions foster independent learning in a social and an enjoyable setting, providing newcomers with the chance to expand their social networks and enhance their skills and knowledge through one-on-one support.

Our collaboration with over 50 dedicated volunteers enhances the Community Connections and Multicultural Mentorship programs. Furthermore, partnerships with more than 20 cultural organizations, including Indigenous community groups and l’Association Francophone de Kamloops, create a supportive environment for newcomers to engage in constructive dialogues, fostering their integration.
