XPress Chef in Kamloops, BC is looking for a food service attendant to join our team. Our ideal candidate is an initiative-taker, ambitious, and engaged. If you have a positive and helpful disposition and are interested in healthy food options, this job may be for you!

Food Service Attendant

• Take customers’ orders in person, or over the phone and receive payment (credit/debit/gift certificates/cash)
• Receive online orders. Prepare meals in a timely manner for pickup by customer or delivery service.
• Clean, peel, slice and prepare food using manual and electric appliances.
• Use TurboChef oven, blenders, dispensers, and other small appliances to prepare fast food items such as wraps, bowls, salads, paninis, smoothies, sauces, etc.
• Portion, assemble, and wrap food for take-out, or place it directly on plates for service to patrons.
• Stock refrigerators, freezers and serving line. Keep records of the quantities of food used and food that needs to be prepared for current and next shift.
• Wash & sanitize workstations, cupboards, and appliances.
• Clear and clean tables and other touch surfaces in eating establishment
• Unpack and store supplies in refrigerators, cupboards, and other storage areas.
• Sweep and mop floors, and perform other daily cleaning tasks (closing the restaurant for end of day and preparing it for the next business day)
• Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and pans.
• All other tasks assigned.

The food service attendant will be required to understand the distinct types of dietary concerns and restrictions that our customers deal with and be able to comfortably communicate with them in this area.

This position will be part-time afternoon, evening, and weekend shifts. You must be available for a variety of shifts – mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends – we will try our hardest to give you a regular schedule, but that is not a guarantee in the food industry. We are very flexible with accommodating our member’s life schedules and ask that you extend the same courtesy to us with our work schedule. This position will also require that you work on your own at various times.

This is a multi-tasked and high-paced position – previous experience in a similar role is an asset. All employees in the establishment will be trained to do all tasks – wholesale meal prep, restaurant prep, catering serving customers, cooking, cleaning, etc. This position can be demanding at times, which will require you to think quick and work fast, while remaining calm, respectful, and courteous to your colleagues and our clients. Current Food Safe Certification is necessary.
