Play-based curriculum, cultural responsiveness, and holistic approach are unique features of our Superstart program. Each session the whole family practice English in a welcoming, informal setting. We include time for adults and children to work together, a healthy snack socialization component and a take-home material. Facilitators use audio-visual aids, art/crafts, storytelling, community awareness activities and other strategies to promote early language literacy and numeracy development.

Here, we’re not just preparing children for kindergarten; we’re building a supportive community where families can connect, share their experiences, and grow together.

Program Structure

Superstart is a parent participation program aimed for children 3 to 5 years old, but everyone is welcomed. Our goal is to equip children from immigrant families with the skills, confidence, and support network they need to thrive in kindergarten and beyond.

Our program runs twice a year, with sessions held on designated Fridays from 10:30am till 12:00pm. Each session includes interactive learning activities, free play, and time for parents to engage in discussions and ask questions. We cover a range of topics, from navigating the school system to understanding child development, all aimed at empowering you as your child’s first teacher.
